Half of hospitality and event venues and agencies have made little or no preparation for a ‘no-deal’ Brexit, according the 2019 HBAA Brexit survey. The news comes ahead of the launch of the biggest government advertising campaign since the Second World War to prepare British business for a potential no-deal Brexit. The preparations involve up to £100 million spent on advertising alone in the run up to the 31st October Brexit deadline.

29% reported to have prepared “as far as they can” for a Customs Agreement or for Single Market membership, while 54.8% have similarly done “little or nothing”. Respondents agreed with the statement, “the uncertainty has been difficult,” with regards to their approach both to preparing for potential outcomes and on how Brexit has impacted on their businesses.
