The recent White Rose Awards 2008, organised by the Yorkshire Tourist Board, took place at The Spa Bridlington with Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham and The Queens Hotel in Leeds among the winners.
Magna Science Adventure Centre was presented with the Outstanding Customer Service Award, The Queens Hotel won the Business Tourism of the Year award, The Deep in Hull won the Sustainable Tourism Award and Dean Court Hotel in York was ranked Hotel of the Year (up to 50 bedrooms category), as was Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa in Leeds (35 bedrooms and over).
David Andrews, YTB Chief Executive, commented: “To receive a White Rose Award is an indication of the quality standards realised by the recipients. To be a finalist, of which there were over 90, is a great achievement in itself but out of those only 17 have been awarded with a trophy, which is indicative of the levels of excellence those short listed had to aspire to.”
