Newcastle and Dundee offer the lowest-priced accommodation for corporate travellers, according to a survey.
Research by business travel management company Click Travel found an average night’s stay in Tyneside costs £69.10. In Dundee it was £69.64. London was the most expensive city in the ranking, with an average night costing £139.89.
Click Travel calculated the costs by analysing one million bookings made via its agents and its online booking tool travel.cloud since September 2016: “We know from our links with hotels that room occupancy levels in Newcastle have fallen over the past two years – so it’s no surprise that rates are becoming more competitive to attract business travellers,” commented Chris Vince, Director of Operations at Click Travel.
